The market opened after a 10 point overnight move and gave us no entry signal before the news hit the market at 10 am. The high impact news took the market to our James Way black around which it stayed for the rest of the day.

Newsevents the first half hour prevented us from entering the market. Half an hour after the 10 am news we got a short entry that went nicely to target. The afternoon then saw one entry as well making the day very successful.

Quick review of the S&P 500 e-minis

The first half hour we saw low volume and no direction at all. It almost felt as if the market never opened. After 10 we got a short and right at the end of the Live Trading Session we got another long back up to our James Way Midpoint. All together it was a very good Trade Along in an otherwise boring market.

Right off the open we could see heavy selling in the market. We didn’t get an entry before the 10 am news and after that the market was so divergent and low on volume that we did not trade according to the rules. So there were no trades at all this day.

The market had no real direction which turned out great for our trading system. We saw one bounce after the other between our James Way lines but were a bit unlucky during the Live Trading Session were we were both stopped out early and missed an entry.

Right off the opne the market showed good bullish streangth and we were primarily looking for long positions. Unfortunately the market took it’s time before the real run and once it took off there was no stopping it. All together it was a short but good day.

Quick review of the S&P 500 e-minis

August has seen shockingly low volume and yesterday was no different. We were also back at the price of 1075 which resulted in a long sideways movement back in June. Despite this challenge we had 2 possible trades in the morning, one in the middle of our Live Trading Session and the other one right at the end of it. The 2 trades had a potential gain of 14 ticks.
